Abstract
Café Com Leite follows different points of time in the life of Elena, the daughter of a Brazilian Coffee Company owner. Elena has a strong desire to be a journalist and gets her news about her father’s company through American newspapers. As Elena’s father drifts away from her to manage his company she grows closer and closer to American journalism. Ultimately she makes the decision to leave Brazil and her father in order to study journalism in Chicago, but her father has something he has been protecting her from.
