"Catholic Americans and the War on Terror"

Major: Honors Accountancy
Junior, College of Business
Abstract
In HON 301, the Bush administration's response to terrorism and 9/11 was the main objective of the course. This paper analyzes Catholic Americans, their views, and their response to America's War on Terror. Research from Pew Research Center, Gallop, and other historical evidence was gathered to characterize the group and learn more about their opinions. Ultimately, it can be observed that there is a difference in attitudes between different hierarchies. The clergy had stated that there is no connection to Islam and terrorism, while Catholic Americans continued to vote for controversial practices and justify U.S. responses to terrorist attacks.
